Folk Remedy Holistic Bodywork is the massage practice of Anna Morgan, LMBT, in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. This policy covers folkremedybodywork.com.
What this site collects
The site has no forms, accounts or online booking yet. It runs no advertising or remarketing tags. Information reaches me in three ways:
- Hosting logs. Netlify hosts the site and records the technical details of each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and the referring page. Cloudflare provides the domain’s DNS.
- Email. Mail sent to anna@folkremedybodywork.com passes through Cloudflare’s email forwarding to my inbox. I use it to reply and keep ordinary business records. Please don’t email health details; I go over those with you at your first session.
- Analytics, if it’s switched on for you. See the next section.
Analytics and cookies
I use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages people read. I don’t use it for advertising or to follow you to other sites.
Google’s code doesn’t load until analytics is allowed. If you turn it down, if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or if you haven’t answered yet, the site doesn’t request any Google script or set an analytics cookie.
A “Don’t allow” on your device always wins. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics off, even if you clicked “Allow” before. Otherwise, visitors in the United States get analytics by default and can turn it off at any time. Everyone else, including visitors in the European Union, the UK and Switzerland, is asked first and gets nothing until they say yes.
Netlify, which hosts the site, estimates your country from your connection. The site reads only the country and tells your browser whether to ask first. I don’t store your IP address or location for this. If the country can’t be determined, you’re asked.
Whatever you choose, the site tells Google that ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization are refused. Only analytics storage is ever allowed.
When analytics is on, Google Analytics sets its own cookies on this site (their names start with _ga) to tell one visit from another. Your choice stays in your browser’s local storage on your device and isn’t sent to me.
To change your mind, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. Turning analytics off tells Google to stop, deletes the Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page.
Who else sees it
Netlify, Cloudflare and, if you allow analytics, Google process this information to provide their services, under their own terms and privacy policies. I may also disclose information when the law requires it. I don’t sell personal information.
How long it’s kept
I keep email as long as it’s useful for business records. Netlify, Cloudflare and Google keep logs and analytics data according to their own settings and policies.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal information I hold and to complain to your local privacy authority. To ask, email anna@folkremedybodywork.com.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
I’ll update this page, and its date, before adding online booking, forms or anything else that collects new information.
